We got as far as my parents house this afternoon. Corban was fussy all day in the car, but he loves being at Grandma and PaPa's house. Good times being here. He was playing hard tonight.
We're off early early tomorrow morning to Cincinnati. Please keep us in your prayers as you're getting ready for school....we'll be on the road. We'll check in, in the next couple days and let you know what's going down.

Top of the morning to you!
There's a new "Aaron's Thoughts" post on the other blog. You don't have to check it out.....but it's been awhile so I thought I'd point out that I actually added something over there.
Reminder that there is NO YOUTH GROUP next Sunday.
Also there will be NO REC. this coming week OR Next week. If you're confused, just check the calendar on the side of this blog.
Flyers and registration forms are out for NEW YEARS REVOLUTION. I really think you should go to this event if at all possible. This is an amazing opportunity to grown in your relationship with Christ and have a ton of fun too! If you didn't get one last night, let me know and i'll get you one ASAP. The sooner you get those back to me the better. There are only 150 slots of students and when they're gone, they're gone.
Remember that as a youth group we are giving money to World Vision between now and Christmas. My challenge has been to you to consider and pray about giving your own money.....or even ask your parents to give the money for one of your Christmas presents to it. I told everyone at youth group last night that I asked my mom for the money for my Christmas present from my parents to give. So I'm in. Who's with me?
Another BIG EVENT is done for the year. To both teams I have to say "Good Work". I don't know if you know this or not....but even if you had a horrible time Friday night, you guys made it fun for me! IMPORTANT
Sunday night.......Youth Group time is different this week. There is a special dinner at the church. It starts at 6pm. The reason for the dinner is for people to share their memories about our church. You are welcome to attend the dinner, if you have some stories you'd like to share.....HOWEVER.....we're going to do youthgroup from 5-6pm this Sunday.

Hey everyone.
Just a quick note here.
I need to know DEFINATELY by tomorrow (Wed.) if your friend is coming to the BE. Lots of people are telling me "maybe this person and maybe that person." I can't have maybe's. If I need more drivers I have to call and beg people tomorrow or thursday. If you don't tell me tomorrow either on this blog or by phone or by e-mail......you can't just show up with a friend! We have so many seats.....and so many butts will go in those seats......extra butts will go home.
I don't want to be a meany.....but I need to know exact numbers.

LAST WEEK.........
Well we're down to the last week before the BIG EVENT and things are looking good coming down the home stretch. If you weren't at youth group last night you missed some fun times.
I'll get to the points in a minute....but first some reminders.......
1. Big Event this Friday. You need to be at the church no later than 5:45. If you're bringing a friend, please let me know by Wed. in case I need another driver or two. If you don't tell by Wed., don't show up with a friend!
2. When you arrive at the BE, you need to have in your posession, an envelope. In the envelope you need to have a baby picture. On the outside of the envelope you need to have your name. One envelope per person please.
3. From now until Christmas we are working on a project with World Vision. We have agreed to give the penny offering from Nov. and Dec. toward this project, but we talked last night about giving of ourselves.....or at least thinking and praying about that.
4. Dec. 30-Jan. New Years Revolution. I just got off the phone with PJ....looks like I will have registration forms in my hand tomorrow or Wed. Remember there are only 150 spots open for this event. It's basically first come first serve.....so if you want to go, you need to get your form back to me ASAP. REMEMBER.......money should not be a reason not to go to this!!!!!!

The night began with Team 1 trailing Team 2 by 1000 points.
Team 2 added to that lead a bit during the crazy e-bay challenge. We looked at some really dumb e-bay auctions and everyone wanted me to by a crygenically frozen pet fish.
Team 1 got back into the race with the first bubble from the blow pop.
Then we were witness to a concert! It was amazing. 4 experienced singers showed up to serenade us with some good music and dancing. Great stuff. Last night I did not inform you of the winner of that.......and I will do so now. After the judges confered we decided that Burt won the sing-off. He had a challenging song, but he did really well with it and he put a lot of energy into his "dance routine".
So where does that leave us point wise?
Every year I say it.......and every year I mean it........but the races get closer and closer..........well right now we're dead tied! Both teams have exactly 10,000 points.
Well we can't have that can we? Let's do some questions for you......
How many days have I officially been employed by N. Warren Presbyterian Church (not counting when I was employed as "Grounds Maintenance" as a kid)? Also remember that this answer will change at midnight tonight!
What scripture verse did you look up last night at youth group?

So last night we got our teams. Team One was missing some people last night and didn't do as well as they might've in some of the competitions, but got some key questions right to keep themselves in the game.

Punching bag
Regular youth group time and place this week. Be there or be L7. Remember that we're in the middle of BIG EVENT points and every point counts this year much more than in the past.
BIG EVENT is Nov. 10.....which is only two weeks away. That's a Friday night. As always I'm looking for some adult type figures to drive. They must be 21.
Also, there are secret points this year that you can earn for your team......but you have no way of knowing how to earn them..........aren't you intrigued?

Rec will start it's Thursday night escapade this coming Thursday at 7pm. Make sure you spread the word. I talked to a girl last night who heard from someone that rec. was cancelled from now on. Make sure you let everyone know that it's just moved!
I have no one signed up to go to THE CRY yet. Why is that? I need those registrations like now!

A little change from last weeks announcement about Rec. We are going to keep REc. on Wed. night this coming week, and we'll officially move Rec. to Thursday night NEXT week the 19th! So one last Wed. night Rec.
THE CRY convention is coming up quick. I hope you've talked about it with your parents. This will be a cool time. You need to get me registration forms ASAP!
NEW YEARS REVOLUTION. We met yesterday to talk and plan and pray about this AWESOME retreat/convention. WOW I'm more excited now about this now than I was last week, and I was pretty stoked then! This is going to be QUALITY! A great convention. Training, fun, good food, and a T-SHIRT! If you're not going to be at grandma's house I hope you consider coming to this convention. Dec. 30 at noon -Jan 1 at noon.

Friday post
Couple quick things.
1. Regular youth group time this Sunday 6:30-8. Hope you can make it! We've been going through a series about being authentic and no wearing a mask.
2. Along with #1.....if you have a Bible, you should start bringing it to youth group on Sunday night. I'm working on getting some new Bibles for the youth room, but until then, it'd be helpful if you had your Bible with you. It's also helpful if we're studying something that you want to remember or want to study further, you can mark it in your Bible and then go back later. So if you could bring your Bible, bring it. If you need a new Bible, if yours is worn out, or you never had one....let me know I'll get you one!
3. Rec. night is going to change. Not this coming week, but next week Rec is going to move to Thursday night at 7. The first Thursday Rec. will be Oct. 12th. We'll see how it goes.
4. THE CRY is coming soon. If you're going, you need to get me registration ASAP. We need to get those in. I got a call from the head guy this week wondering if there was anyone coming......so the sooner you get that to me the better we are!

I want to start this post by saying "Thank you". To everyone who was at youth group last night Thank you. (this isn't a guilt trip for those of you not at youth group...let me explain)
I left youth group last night in a hurry, but I wanted so badly to stay and continue our discussion. Whether you liked our study last night or night....thank you for participating. I think everyone in the room had something to say at some point. I really appreciated that. Thanks.
Ok moving on.

September 24th. That's not this Sunday but it's next Sunday, we are meeting at 6pm at Soldiers and Sailors park (that's the little park where they have music in the park in the summer). That night we're having a See You at the Pole Rally. Tons of youth your age packing that little park out. How cool will that be?
Wednesday September 27 SEE YOU AT THE POLE!! This is your chance to stand and pray for you school, for your teachers, for your principle, for your community. If you need a ride, I'm going!
Nov. 3-4 THE CRY Convention in Jamestown. We're going to talk about this Convention this coming week at youth group. If you won't be at youth group let me know and i'll get you the info. It's a Friday night/all day Saturday convention in Jamestown. Really cool stuff going on.
Dec. 30 2006-Jan.1 2007 Winter retreat thingie.....(we don't have an official name yet for it) Lots of details still in the works with this but mark it on your calendars now. The dates are set in stone. A very very cool winter retreat to get you ready before you go back to school. FUN!!! FUN!!! Did I say FUN!!! I can not wait to go myself!
So I posted a funny video with Napoleon Dynamite on it.....most of you have seen the movie right? Well the dancing part comes right out of the movie. (if you haven't seen the movie I
would recommend it......either you'll like it, or you'll think it's dumb.....it's clean PG so no worries there) ANYWAY....do you know who David Crowder is? The music that's going on in the video is not original to the movie!!!!!! That's what makes this funny. David Crowder is a really rocking worship guy that looks like me! I had my goatee first and mine's longer! ANYWAY, he totally rocks and this is one of his songs. I'm glad some of you liked it.
Did you know that Veggie Tales is now on Saturday morning cartoons on NBC? Well it's a little bit different....they don't look at the camera and say, "the Bible says that you kids should....." but it's close. The hope is that kids will fall in love with Bob and Larry and then go buy the videos.

Sunday
Wanted to tell you a couple things.
1. Corban is being baptized this coming Sunday morning at 11am. If you go to another church but want to be there for this, I wanted you to know that it's this Sunday. Lots of family in friends will be there and you all are family to us, so you should come.
2. Regular youth group this week at 6:30pm

1. Corban is being baptized this coming Sunday morning at 11am. If you go to another church but want to be there for this, I wanted you to know that it's this Sunday. Lots of family in friends will be there and you all are family to us, so you should come.

This week and new info
NO YOUTH GROUP THIS WEEK SEPT. 3rd.
Sept. 24 REVOLUTION RALLY for See you at the Pole at Soldiers and Sailors Park (that's where they do Music in the Park) 6Pm. You will be there!!!!
Nov. 3-4 THE CRY Convention in Jamestown. This is a really cool convention for teens and it's in our backyard. I have flyers I'll be getting you and some stickers and stuff. More info coming.
Dec. 30-Jan1 NEW YEARS REVOLUTION Retreat. This is going to be killer. Lots of planning to do still but mark this on your calendar now. This is going to be pretty cool.

Quick posting
I told you that I would post here as soon as you left....and I'm true to my word. I just got back from dropping the last of you off.
Here's what's on the horizon.
Next Sunday night. We're going to do DINNER AND A MOVIE night. We're going to start at 6pm. You need to bring 3 dollars with you. We'll have pizza and watch a cool documentary thing and then talk about it for awhile. That should be about 7:30-745ish. If you want to go home at that point you can....but after that discussion, we're going to watch another movie for fun. Now here's your chance.....I have in my head what movie I'm going to have us watch for the second fun movie.....by posting a comment to this blog entry, you can suggest a movie. If you're convincing enough maybe i'll switch my pick.

I don't know why I named the post that.
OK regular youth group this coming week Aug. 13 6:30-8. Hopefully you can make it.
If you missed this past week and our talk about Truth.....my hope is to get some time in the next couple days and post some of those thoughts on the other blog site. You can just click the link on the right side of this column.
AUG. 20th. That's not this Sunday but NEXT sunday. We're going to have a "Bye Bye Summer...Bash" We will have youth group at our house 8B Maple Pl. at 5pm. Don't eat dinner before hand. We're going to grill out (probably hamburger and hotdogs)....we'll have popsicles.....probably some carbonated beverages....games in the State field (assuming the weather is nice). So mark it on the old calendars!
Check back here again, I'm hoping to finalize another event plan real soon.
