Dec. 30-Jan. 1 NEW YEARS REVOLUTION. Retreat at Mission Meadow Camp on Chataqua Lake. Rough cost looks like 45 dollars....but we'll finalize that soon. This will be a fun weekend of games, food, learning, music and a great way to celebrate the NEW YEAR!!

I want to start this post by saying "Thank you". To everyone who was at youth group last night Thank you. (this isn't a guilt trip for those of you not at youth group...let me explain)

I left youth group last night in a hurry, but I wanted so badly to stay and continue our discussion. Whether you liked our study last night or night....thank you for participating. I think everyone in the room had something to say at some point. I really appreciated that. Thanks.

Regular youth group time this week as far as I know....

September 24th. That's not this Sunday but it's next Sunday, we are meeting at 6pm at Soldiers and Sailors park (that's the little park where they have music in the park in the summer). That night we're having a See You at the Pole Rally. Tons of youth your age packing that little park out. How cool will that be?

Wednesday September 27 SEE YOU AT THE POLE!! This is your chance to stand and pray for you school, for your teachers, for your principle, for your community. If you need a ride, I'm going!

Nov. 3-4 THE CRY Convention in Jamestown. We're going to talk about this Convention this coming week at youth group. If you won't be at youth group let me know and i'll get you the info. It's a Friday night/all day Saturday convention in Jamestown. Really cool stuff going on.

Dec. 30 2006-Jan.1 2007 Winter retreat thingie.....(we don't have an official name yet for it) Lots of details still in the works with this but mark it on your calendars now. The dates are set in stone. A very very cool winter retreat to get you ready before you go back to school. FUN!!! FUN!!! Did I say FUN!!! I can not wait to go myself!

So I posted a funny video with Napoleon Dynamite on it.....most of you have seen the movie right? Well the dancing part comes right out of the movie. (if you haven't seen the movie I would recommend it......either you'll like it, or you'll think it's dumb.....it's clean PG so no worries there) ANYWAY....do you know who David Crowder is? The music that's going on in the video is not original to the movie!!!!!! That's what makes this funny. David Crowder is a really rocking worship guy that looks like me! I had my goatee first and mine's longer! ANYWAY, he totally rocks and this is one of his songs. I'm glad some of you liked it.

Did you know that Veggie Tales is now on Saturday morning cartoons on NBC? Well it's a little bit different....they don't look at the camera and say, "the Bible says that you kids should....." but it's close. The hope is that kids will fall in love with Bob and Larry and then go buy the videos.

Wanted to tell you a couple things.

1. Corban is being baptized this coming Sunday morning at 11am. If you go to another church but want to be there for this, I wanted you to know that it's this Sunday. Lots of family in friends will be there and you all are family to us, so you should come.

2. Regular youth group this week at 6:30pm

3. Answer this question....what would it look like if Rec. was moved to Thursday night instead of Wed.?

4. Are you ready for some football?

5. I'm preparing for a retreat thing I'm doing for the Warren County Christian School next week, during the week. I have to speak 5 times...and I'm stressing out. Can you please pray for me as I work on these messages? Thanks

Quick posting

I told you that I would post here as soon as you left....and I'm true to my word. I just got back from dropping the last of you off.

Here's what's on the horizon.

Next Sunday night. We're going to do DINNER AND A MOVIE night. We're going to start at 6pm. You need to bring 3 dollars with you. We'll have pizza and watch a cool documentary thing and then talk about it for awhile. That should be about 7:30-745ish. If you want to go home at that point you can....but after that discussion, we're going to watch another movie for fun. Now here's your chance.....I have in my head what movie I'm going to have us watch for the second fun movie.....by posting a comment to this blog entry, you can suggest a movie. If you're convincing enough maybe i'll switch my pick.

Sunday September Sep. 24 (I think) we're working on having a youth event at Soldier and Saliors park (same place as Music in the Park). More info to come on this.

Plans are already in the works for THE BIG EVENT. I guarantee something comepletely different than anything we've ever done before.

Riane asked about the other blog linked on the right of mine. If you read that, you are now able to post a comment or ask a question or whatever. Sorry for the problem. Also there's a new thought up there.

OK regular youth group this coming week Aug. 13 6:30-8. Hopefully you can make it.

AUG. 20th. That's not this Sunday but NEXT sunday. We're going to have a "Bye Bye Summer...Bash" We will have youth group at our house 8B Maple Pl. at 5pm. Don't eat dinner before hand. We're going to grill out (probably hamburger and hotdogs)....we'll have popsicles.....probably some carbonated beverages....games in the State field (assuming the weather is nice). So mark it on the old calendars!

Check back here again, I'm hoping to finalize another event plan real soon.

Sorry for my lack of posting last week. My bad. Special appologies to Riane for not posting her VBS info as she asked in her comment post. I'll do better.

Regular Rec. this week. It's suppose to be hot all week. I'll bring water.

Regulart Youth Group this coming Sunday 6:30-8. This past week I asked the question what is True, or what is Truth. We sat around and wrote down what we thought a true statement was or what truth was. We didn't really talk about it, we just wrote....so that means this week we're going to talk about what truth is. Is there such a thing?

If you love painting and didn't get your fill by doing the youth room, Burt needs some help painting Fellowship Hall this Saturday morning. It's a big room and will need some serious help.

If you missed the theatre performance thing that Lindsey, Nyssa and Emily were in, it was AWESOME! I think there's another chance to see it this Thursday, but I don't know the time....maybe someone else does?

I know it's hot summer, but would you rather be hot or cold?

A mess

I'm sitting in my dining room. This room used to have lots of really cute stuff that Marjorie decorated with. Now it is littered with toys. All shapes and varieties and colors of toys are just thrown all about. Know what? I LOVE IT! Thanks so much for praying for us for months and years. You guys have been awesome.

OK back at it though.

Regular REC. tomorrow night 7/19 7-8:30ish.......in the field if it's nice, in the gym if it rains........if you're not sure......come to the gym to find out.

SUNDAY 7/23 Kidstuf until 7:30....youth group until 8:30

MONDAY 7/24 SWIMMING 5:30-7:30 at C.A.R. Pool Good times. Families will be there so no dunking Aaron underwater.....seriously!

We're all good

Just a real quick note. I'm exhausted and it's not even 10 pm yet. We have Corban. WE are all alive and well.

Corban is still really confused as to whats' going on. He's taking a long time adjusting to things. My parents haven't even gotten to hold him yet. Today he actually held each of their hadns which was a big step forward. It's going to be a long slow process for all of us to adjust to each other.

Don't be surprised if he's very shy when he sees you for the first time..,..or the second time or the third time. He'll come around. He's adjusting to everything.

This all being said, he's the most beautiful thing we've ever seen in our lives! He's so dang cute. Ok more later, i gotta go get some sleep

THIS IS IT!

It's 7:15am. We are at the Holiday Inn near Dulles Airport just outside of Washington DC. In 15 minutes we're leaving to go to the airport.

When we get there we have to ask lots of questions to figure out where we actually need to be. In not too long, a little boy who we've all been waiting for will be here! FOR REAL THIS TIME!

Calendar updates and stuff

I put some more info onto the calendar at the right over there.

This Sunday is the first week of Kidstuf Family Vacation. It's over at 7:30....and there's ice cream. Come for the whole night, eat ice cream and then we'll have a youthy groupy until 8:30.

This coming week Marjorie and I fly to Washington DC to pick up Corban. So you can better pray for us and our travels I put our itinerary on the calendar.

Though I wasn't sure last week.....there IS Rec. next Wednesday. I won't be there, but Brian will do it for me.

Next Sunday there is Kidstuf Family Vacation, but no regular youth group.

JULY24th.......it's a Monday Night. SWIMMING at CAR pool. We've rented the whole place out. Bring your family for good times. Mark it on your home calendar and tell your parents.

Also....check the calendar......if you don't see your birthday on there, it's because for some reason I don't have it.....that means I need to get it from you!

What's up

Here's a whole bunch of times and dates for you.....along with some news.

1. Sunday July 2nd. Regular youth group time, regular youth group place. 6:30-8 at church. Bring a stick of gum (that's optional)

2. Monday July 3rd. This is just if you want to. At 3pm there is a group of people getting together to actually put the REVOLUTION FLOAT together. The design is already taken care of, we just need to put it on the truck etc. This is going to take a bunch of people and you could be one of them!

3. 4th of July. WE WANT YOU to be in the parade with us. It'll be pretty cool. We're meeting at 9am behind the YMCA. Just look for a mass of rowdy teenagers with the coolest float down there.....that'll be us. We have T-shirts printed up and they ROCK!!!! I'm serious. I love these shirts. If you come on the 4th they're only 5 bucks. After that they'll jump to 10....which I still think is a steal. Please bring exactly 5 dollars if possible for your shirt. The idea is that people see this giant wave of adults and teens walking toward them giving out stuff. It'll be cool.

4. BIG NEWS!!!! CORBAN IS FINALLY COMING HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For real this time. Our paperwork made it through Pittsburgh and there's nothing else that stands in our way. Less than two weeks and he'll be home! We're super stoked. Thanks for keeping us in your prayers.

5. I like carrots.

NEW FEATURE

You'll notice that there is now a calendar at the left of the blog. There isn't much in there right now, because it takes some time to input info in there. The idea is that you and your parents will be able to see what's coming up. Hopefully everyone will be on the same page easier. I'll work on getting the info in there ASAP.

PAINTING

Hey we're painting the youth room this Saturday morning 8am!!!!! Please come.

Next Sunday. SOFTBALL GAME 2pm at the State Field. Hot dogs etc to follow. You're playing.....even if you don't know you are. Bring extra gloves if you have them.

4th of July parade. We'd love to have you as part of the REVOLUTION. Walk with us. YEAH

Youth Room Ideas

OK if you don't know yet, we're re-doing the youth room. There are several stages to this project. Cleaning and painting is step one and we're working on that now. What I want to chat about is what happens after that.

I'll start you out with some questions and ideas....I'm looking for your input. ANY IDEA is good. Even if it's really off the wall, I want to hear it. To add to the discussion just click on the COMMENTS at the bottom of this mini article. Then you have to click the OTHER button. That way it'll let you post, but we'll still be able to see who you are.....if you like anonymity, you could post as ANONYMOUS, but that's just silly. Let's have some dialogue right here!

What are we sitting on? If you missed the conversation tonight.....couches might not be the best idea for the future....but you could make your case for couches too!

Other than the new color of the walls, what kind of decorating should we do?

Lounge seems like a silly 60's name. It also infers that all we do is lay around and eat bonbons. Ideas for a name? I titled this Youth Room, but that's not absolute.

Next Sunday June 18th. Youth Group 7-8pm. NOTE: Start time is 7pm not 6:30. It'll be a fun night guaranteed.

Sunday June 25th Softball day. 2 pm. You don't have to be good. Actually there's a good chance that most of us aren't. It's just a fun way to spend an afternoon. I'm not on Alex's team!.....but Marjorie is!!!! Plan on playing and bring your family. Hot dogs etc. will be at the church afterward

July 4th REVOLUTION parade. Times are coming. Plan on being there.

NO YOUTH GROUP THIS SUNDAY 6/4/06. This Sunday is Baccalaureate at our county schools. I'm going to WAHS this Sunday night.....and you should come with me. Start time in Warren is 6:30, so I'd like to leave around 6 if you need a ride. Who's coming?

REVOLUTION T-shirt design is full-on! 30 dollars, a CD and a free shirt to the winner. Let me tell you we already have a bunch of pretty cool designs. You should submit something too....but you better do it soon. We need to order shirts this week.

JUNE 14th. Motorcycle Mania. 6 bucks in advance 10 at the gate. Who wants to see motorcycle tricks, trial riding, etc? This is going to rock! No REC. that night......so you should go to this event. Take your whole family, or we'll find you a ride! Good times!

June 25th Softball day. Mark it down. You're playing. No options.

July 4th. PARADE!!!!! Revolution is having a float and you can be part of the festivities. We really need your help. If you're going to be in town, we'd love for you to be with us. More info coming.
